Education
Dr. Gupta earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in 1999. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to continuing education, completing more than 300 hours of advanced professional training to stay current with the latest diagnostic technology, treatment options, and best practices in eye care.
Clinical Experience
With more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Gupta has provided comprehensive eye care for patients with a wide range of vision and eye health needs. Before joining Whelpley & Paul, he served as the clinical director of an eye care center, where he managed patients referred for glaucoma, keratoconus, and other complex ocular diseases.
His experience also includes evaluating and treating eye emergencies, monitoring chronic eye conditions, and providing personalized care plans designed to protect patients’ vision over time.
Research & Professional Contributions
Dr. Gupta has made significant contributions to the optometric profession through education and research. He has published more than 200 professional articles, authored a textbook focused on glaucoma diagnosis and management, and presented over 300 continuing education lectures for fellow eye care professionals.
He has also trained ophthalmology residents, optometry students, and clinical staff, sharing his knowledge with the next generation of eye care providers.
