Dr. Deepak Gupta, O.D., is a veteran researcher and practicing optometrist with 25 years of experience, and is currently serving Whelpley & Paul’s Webster location. Dr. Gupta’s comprehensive knowledge and expertise in eye care come from his years of teaching, researching, and practicing, making him a key resource for both his patients and colleagues.
About Dr. Gupta
Dr. Gupta received his Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in 1999. After graduation, he rose to the level of clinical director of an eye care center where he oversaw — and helped treat — patients who were referred by other eye doctors for eye disease management, including diseases like glaucoma, keratoconus, and more. A seasoned lecturer and mentor, he has delivered over 300 continuing education lectures and has helped train ophthalmology residents, ophthalmic technicians, and optometry students. Dr. Gupta also has extensive experience handling eye emergencies and eye disease management referrals from other optometrists and ophthalmologists.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Gupta has a long research history; he has published more than 200 articles in medical optometric journals. Dr. Gupta also authored the textbook Glaucoma Diagnosis and Management.
Since moving to Rochester, Dr. Gupta has brought his expertise and industry knowledge to help ensure that Whelpley & Paul continues to adopt the newest cutting-edge tech and most up-to-date treatments.
